This past week, Steve Jobs passed away. He is known as the godfather of Apple. He was the face of their product up until he stepped down amid his bouts with cancer. When that cancer took his life, he was hailed as a visionary. Many claimed he changed how we as consumers view computers and computer projects. Well, I think we should stop short before we deify him.I wrote this!

Right Man for the Jobs
The Nerd’s Eye View crew reviews 50/50, and one of them just wasn’t impressed. Andrew and Matt go over the news in video games, including some Arkham City talk. Thom and Andrew delve into Community Fantasy League discussion. The CBYHS theme for the week is “Body Part/Anatomy in the title” and it sure is a head-scratcher. The three trailers for Trailer Trash are John Dies at the End (2012), The 3 R’s (Oct 20), and Being Elmo: A Puppeteers Journey (N/A). And at the end are three more entries for Guess the Ending. Thom watches Planet of the Apes(the real story is how) and continues with Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop. Andrew finds two things wrong with the title of Naked Lunch, wonders if Marge is a better lead to A Streetcar Named Desire and ponders what is happening in Revolver. Matt goes to Metropolis and finds it grand, gets Lost In Translation with Scarlett Johansson and meets some Strangers on a Train. In the news, Arrested Devlopment might be getting big and small screen treatments. Also, box office top ten, new releases and birthdays with a special birthday themed song parody by Thom. Building Character
By Andrew Linde
I like sitcoms. I’ll admit it. They’re usually quite funny and often become wonderful returning shows year after year(ignoring those that go on too long). From Seinfeld to the Honeymooners, sitcoms have been a staple on TV in new content and reruns. Yet sometimes, they don’t quite deliver. Take the case of Up All Night.
We review Killer Elite, the latest from Jason Statham and Clive Owen. Then, Matt and Andrew talk about new video game releases, including Civilization V Game of the Year Edition. Andrew and Thom introduce a new weekly fixture, where they recap the happenings in Community Fantasy League. CBYHS is more of the same, with the theme of “Color in the title.” The three trailers are Twixt(TBA), Goon(TBA), and J. Edgar(11/9). A new twist in Guess the Ending means three different movies get guessed, including Courageous, Sarah Palin: You Betcha!, and What’s Your Number?. Matt watches The Wild Bunch and beats Thom to watching Hesher. Thom indulges in another Refn film, Valhalla Rising. Thom also watches some new TV shows, like 2 Broke Girls. Andrew is up to 388 movies, and talks about Desperado, Wet Hot American Summer, Westworld, and Creature from the Black Lagoon. Also the Box Office Top Ten, New Releases, and Birthdays. Alphas, Beta, Delta
by Andrew Linde
With so much emphasis on the new fall TV season, many people forget about summer television. Although it is a fairly recent trend to air new scripted shows in the summer, it’s gaining ground with better fare. My personal favorite this summer has been Alphas.
We open the show with a review of Drive, starring Ryan Gosling. Then Matt and Andrew talk about the newest video game releases(can anyone figure out why Andrew is on British time?). Thom loaned Andrew “Potty Mouth” by Doug Benson and they talk about that. Also, Thursday is always Game Day! The CBYHS theme for the week is “Based on Literature.” The trailers for Trailer Trash(or Treasure!) are Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Shut Up Little Man: An Audio Misadventure, and Berlin 36. Also we guess the ending for Killer Elite. Come back on Tuesday to download the newest episode and check out our blogs on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at nevpodcast.com. Thom talks about TV shows he was excited about, including Ringer, Free Agents, and Whitney. Andrew watched some mediocre films such as Doc Hollywood and I Was a Male War Bride. The big news, besides some Emmy results, is about Netflix’s decision to become two seperate companies. Stay tuned until the end to hear a special Birthday song requested by Kevin Mastron set to Clint Eastwood by The Gorillaz. I came to an odd conclusion last week. I was sitting in the movie theatre at the Long Beach Towne Centre, watching Colombiana with the Nerd’s Eye View crew and a thought crossed my mind. This thought had almost nothing to do with the movie I was watching. The thought was…
